Knowledge at your Fingertips 2000 Conference to be
kicked off in Syracuse! SYRACUSE
May 1, 2000
– Access Systems, Inc., along with the largest member associations from around
the world, announced that it is kicking off a national conference tour in
Syracuse, New York. The
Knowledge at Your Fingertips Seminar Series, to be held at the Hotel
Syracuse on June 13th, will bring together leading experts and
practitioners in the field of knowledge management and is open to the public.
The focus of this seminar will be to show how companies can leverage the
knowledge and experience of their employees and then enable knowledge sharing
through the use of the latest technologies. Two topic tracks are offered to
attendees - one on strategies and case studies and the other on information
management tools and technologies. Attendees will be able to see many new
technologies on display in a vendor showcase area. While
conferences of this nature are typically held in larger market cities, Steve
Goodfellow, President of Access Systems, wanted to bring this very hot topic and
some of the experts in the knowledge management field to the Syracuse market.
“I really felt that quality seminars such as this one have overlooked the
Central New York market, which has first rate organizations that are tired of
traveling to the larger markets to get valuable information on how to help their
businesses compete in this electronic age.” “Steve
Goodfellow is right on target in scheduling his national tour kick-off in
Syracuse this year,” states David Cordeau, President of the Syracuse Chamber
of Commerce. “The field of knowledge management has become a critical skill
area for business. Central and
Upstate New York companies and organizations will now be able to access Steve's
outstanding programs. Syracuse's strategic location and convenience allows us to
compete with the larger markets and still provide hometown ambience." Associations
that are assisting in producing the event are the Association of Information and
Image Management (AIIM), the American Society of Training & Development (ASTD),
the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP), Association of
Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), and the Society of Human Resource
Management (SHRM). In total, these associations have in excess of 300,000
members worldwide. KM World Magazine with over 100,000 subscribers is also
sponsoring this event. The
Knowledge at Your Fingertips conference will be continuing on in other
cities around the US later this year including San Francisco, Seattle, Los
Angles, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas and other locations. For more information
